Community Contact Telephone Support Line

West Kent Mind are delighted to have received funding from Kent Community Foundation to offer a free telephone support line throughout July 2020. The service ‘Community Contact Line’ will be staffed by qualified counsellors and will run 4 mornings per week for anyone in the West Kent area needing to talk to someone. Call us on 01732 647032. Please read on for times and days that the service is available.

What is it?

Community Contact is a free telephone support line that gives anyone in the West Kent community the opportunity to talk confidentially to a professional listening ear.

As well as speaking to a qualified counsellor you will receive signposts for any additional support that you may need. (This may include referrals to West Kent Mind’s Affordable Counselling service.)

Please note that this service is NOT intended to be a crisis support line. Visit ‘Get mental health help now’ if your need is urgent.

Who is it for?

It’s open to anyone in the West Kent area.

When will it be available?

Community Contact will run for the month of July 2020. Days of operation are Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 10am until 12pm.

How will it work?

Call 01732 647032 during any of the times listed above. Outside of these times, or when lines are busy, you will reach an answering service where you can leave your name and number for a callback.

Call duration is approximately/up to 30 minutes.

The counsellor on duty will only take your personal details if you would like further information on anything discussed, or if the counsellor can offer appropriate signposts. In this case name and telephone number or email can be taken.

Who is running this service?

Community Contact is a telephone service kindly funded by Kent Community Foundation and project managed by West Kent Mind. For any questions about  Community Contact line email Tanya Wright, Community Development Facilitator.
