Arts & Photography Groups

Creative Minds

If you enjoy arts and crafts then this could be the group for you! Creative Minds is a social activity group run in partnership with Live Well Kent. Live Well Kent programmes run for 12 sessions and are suitable for anyone who’d like to join as part of their recovery journey. There are weekly/monthly groups in Edenbridge, Tonbridge, Sevenoaks and Ashford. Our community wellbeing team look forward to welcoming you to the groups.

My Mind’s Eye Photography

My Mind’s Eye is a course of mindful photography sessions designed to help participants reconnect with the world through photography. The courses are run by Paul Sanders, a professional freelance landscape photographer passionate about the benefit of photography to mental health and wellness.

No previous photography experience or specialist equipment is required, and West Kent Mind staff support the group throughout their journey. The sessions are fun and accessible to all, aimed at working to the strengths of the individual. The group is open to any adult living or working in West Kent who feels it would positively impact on their mental health.

If you are interested in joining any of these groups, please complete the form below and we will be in touch.

By coming to this group, it has helped me grow in confidence, and get outside more. When I first started the course, I didn’t leave my house. My Mind’s Eye has helped me get outside more to take photos, and I have now joined a weekly walking group, and feel much more connected and active.

I want to say that although we cannot see each other and create art in person, we still find ways to talk about it via Zoom and work on interesting tasks for the week.

Life had become a small place, but today I was in awe of the sky’s colour and so I went out in my dressing gown and slippers to take the photograph.
