The Solace Café is an initiative for people who are at risk of developing an emotional crisis and are in need of support and social contact.

The Solace Café provides a safe and non-judgemental environment for people to meet others with similar problems, and to access mental health support and advice from peers and professionals. We are not a counselling service but are here to listen and are able to offer suggestions and signposting about how to access other forms of support in the local area. The café is run by our experienced and welcoming team, Diana, Jo, Petia and Elizabeth. The service is currently operating online, via Zoom.

As well as a group space for peer support and crisis prevention between 5pm and 7pm, we offer 1-to-1s for individuals approaching crisis point and new visitors as a drop-in service. We recommend that new visitors try to arrive between 7pm and 8pm, so we can offer you the level of support you require.

The service is open to anyone aged 18 and over who identifies as being at risk of developing an emotional crisis or a mental health problem.
We want you to get the right kind of help, so we ask that when possible you contact us before coming to the café.

During the current Covid-19 pandemic, the Solace Café is operating as a virtual service on Zoom.

You can contact us by calling 01732 356630 or 07436 102171 during café opening hours, 01732 744950 during office hours, or by emailing us.

Alternatively you can use the form below to register your interest, after which we will get in contact with you.

Please note the Solace Café is currently only operating as a virtual service on Zoom.

I was diagnosed with a mental health condition a few years ago. The diagnosis left me scared and confused as to what it meant for me and my life. Solace has been THE most effective support for me in coming to terms with my condition.
