‘Don’t Stew Have a Brew!’ for Time to Talk Day

Could you support West Kent Mind by holding a ‘Don’t stew, have a brew!’ tea and cake event on Time to Talk Day on Thursday 7 February? We are asking local businesses, groups and individuals to organise an event to bring people together for a chat over tea and cake. We want to raise awareness of Time to Talk Day, encourage people to connect, as well as some fundraising to help support local mental health services.

Please get in touch if you have an idea about an event, or could host one at home or in your workplace. We would love to hear from you! Please email our Community Fundraiser, Tanya.

Time To Talk Day brings the nation together to get talking and break the silence around mental health problems. Too often, people who experience a mental health problem are also expected to take the lead on talking about mental health in the wider sense. Time To Talk Day encourages everyone to talk about mental health.

Mental health problems affect one in four of us yet people are still afraid to talk about it. For people with mental health problems not being able to talk about it can be one of the worst parts of the illness. So by getting people talking about mental health we can break down stereotypes, improve relationships, aid recovery and take the stigma out of something that affects us all.
