Introduction to Counselling Skills

We are delighted to announce a brand new course for 2019 – ‘Introduction to Counselling Skills’. Counselling skills can be useful in daily life, whether in our work supporting others or just listening to a friend in distress. They help us communicate effectively and enable us to relate better to the people we are talking to. The course begins on Monday 3 June from 1pm to 2.30pm and runs for 4 consecutive Mondays.

During the course you will gain an understanding and practice of basic counselling skills such as:

  • Improved listening
  • Reflection both of yourself and others
  • Tools to become a skilled helper
  • Brief introduction to counselling theories and ethics
  • Develop increased self-awareness

The course offers an opportunity for personal and professional development for anyone who works in a supportive, advisory or voluntary capacity. It can also be a starting point for those considering training to become a counsellor. The course is also suitable for anyone interested in communication and supporting others.

Commences Monday 3 June from 1pm until 2.30pm
Cost: £120 for the 4 week course and all course materials and refreshments
Venue: West Kent Mind Wellbeing Centre, St Johns’s Road, Sevenoaks TN13 3LW
