Supported Housing

June 2021: we currently have vacancies in our houses and welcome enquiries. Please get in touch with us for more information.

West Kent Mind offer a low-level mental health supported housing service situated in Sevenoaks. We provide individualised support to help people with mental health needs to build their skills, confidence and self-esteem, with the aim to live independently within 2-3 years.

Freshfields and The Drive are large, pleasantly situated houses in Sevenoaks, spread over three floors and enjoying large secluded gardens with patios. There are communal lounge and dining areas and fourteen individual rooms with shared kitchen, bathroom and laundry facilities. There is also a self-contained flat.

The houses offer a safe and secure environment in which people who have had or who are recovering from mental health problems can work, with our support staff and at their own pace, towards increasing levels of independence prior to moving on. Our small, friendly staff team  provide housing-related support during working hours. Residents work with a key worker to develop a personal support plan reflecting their needs, goals and aspirations.

We can help residents:

Managing mental health and accessing support
Maintain a tenancy
Develop and maintain independent living skills
Accessing local community and groups
Managing money, budgeting and applying for benefits
Access education, training, volunteering and employment
Identify and apply for suitable move-on accommodation

Diagnosed mental health need but not in current crisis
Willing to work with support staff and follow a support plan
Drug and alcohol dependent free for 6 months

This mental health housing related support service is offered in collaboration with Live Well Kent.
