In September, Scott and his friends Neil and David took on an incredible triathlon challenge, raising more than £3,400 for West Kent Mind. For Scott, the challenge was particularly personal. He chose to fundraise in memory of his dad and to help ensure other people experiencing mental health problems can access the support they need.

“The whole experience was incredible! On the day, a fellow triathlete who had experienced mental health challenges in the past donated £200 while we were at the event. I still can’t believe the generosity and kindness we experienced.”

Having experienced mental health problems himself, the challenge meant even more to Scott. “This journey has shown me that even in the darkest moments, there’s hope, and there are people and services ready to help you rebuild your life. West Kent Mind will always be a really special place to me because of my dad. I hope my story reminds anyone struggling that you are not alone.”
