Winners… for our contribution to the Mind Federation!

We’re delighted to announce that West Kent Mind has won the Local Mind Excellence Award in the category of Contribution to the Mind Federation and will also be commended in the category of Leadership, workforce and culture.

This is a fantastic achievement across both categories. The judges had these comments to make on West Kent Mind and our amazing team:

“Are dedicated to creating connections beyond the local communicate, to benefit those you aim to support. It is admirable how willing you are to work collaboratively with other organisations”

“Truly encompasses the right approach of a mental health charity organisation who is determined to better the mental health of not just their local community but for as many individuals as possible”

“West Kent Mind is impressive in the way it illustrates the culture of commitment to involve and include service users.”

“The many creative ways that the culture of the team invites, encourages and facilitates involvement [informs] the strong leadership and growing the staff and volunteers through their experiences of being respected, encouraged to learn, and valued for their commitment, creativity and autonomy, benefitting the volunteers, service users and the staff team, the latter predominantly comprising people with lived experience.

“The West Kent Mind leadership monitor their own performance via the staff survey and meetings. The application describes many examples of co-production in the provision of their therapeutic and wellbeing services and what is clear is the openness to change if it benefits service users and staff.”

“The commitment to creatively encouraging recovery and growth shines through the application from West Kent Mind”

Stevie Rice, CEO and Georgia Clarke, Head of Services, attended the The Mind Excellence Awards ceremony in Birmingham this week and accepted the award on behalf of West Kent Mind.
