Moving Well - 55 +

Southborough - In partnership with Moving Memory Dance

Join us, in partnership with Moving Memory Dance, for these workshops, led by and for people age 55+. Sessions will build from simple getting-to-know-you activities through to making a short choreography from participants’ own stories and movements. The sessions are about having fun, loosening up and letting go, celebrating the good stuff of life. No experience needed. All shapes, sizes and levels of mobility welcome.

Men's Peer Mentor Training

Our Peer Mentor training is a group experience for people with lived experience of mental health challenges. Participants are offered peer mentorship training based on the Peer2Peer approach and opportunities to build the skills through volunteering opportunities in West Kent Mind initiatives and wider community settings. The training is based on the idea that people who have experienced mental health difficulties can intentionally use that experience to support others. The course is free and takes place across 10 weeks. The training is experiential and participatory, involving reflection, group work, storytelling, and skills practice. This group is available to men who live or work in the Sevenoaks District.

Proud to Create is a welcoming creative space for LGBTQ+ people and allies to explore the powerful relationship between art, identity, protest, and visibility. In our workshops we'll paint, draw, print, collage, use textiles, banner-making, zine creation - all sorts of mixed media! Experimenting with different forms of protest art while developing our own visual language building creative confidence. We will explore themes of Pride, activism, belonging, storytelling, and self-expression in a supportive and inclusive environment. A space to create authentically and without judgement.

The ASD Carers’ Support Group offers a relaxed, friendly and confidential place to share your experiences and feelings with carers and parents who have had similar experiences.

We have a community garden at our centre in Sevenoaks, which is maintained by a dedicated Mindful Gardening group who meet weekly, whatever the weather! The group has created a beautiful organic wildlife garden, which includes a pond and produces flowers, fruit and vegetables. We know that being active outside and spending time in green spaces helps us to destress and relax. Gardening can improve your mood, give you a sense of purpose and working alongside others is a great way to combat feelings of isolation. The garden provides solace and space, and all are welcome.

Making Your Mark is a creative programme for neurodivergent adults, offering a gentle, exploratory introduction to drawing and watercolour painting. Sessions are warm, friendly, and non-judgmental, with space to work at your own pace and in your own way. Each week builds on the last, with room for the programme to evolve as the group finds its rhythm. Alongside the creative activities, sessions may incorporate moments of mindfulness and reflection, creating a holistic experience that supports wellbeing as well as creativity.
