Your Voice is our new co-production group, offering clients a valuable opportunity to share insights that shape the planning and delivery of our mental health services

What is Your Voice?

Your Voice is West Kent Mind’s client and staff co-production group. We strongly believe that people with lived experience of mental health problems – that have been supported by our services – can offer invaluable insight and should be able to express their voice on how our mental health services are planned and delivered.

The group meets once a month to discuss key topics, including communication, future services, feedback, and fundraising.

What is the purpose of Your Voice?

The goal of Your Voice is to break down barriers between service users and staff and promote ‘equal say’. By creating a culture of openness and honesty, we ensure that every opinion is valued and respected.

Are you already seeing successes from the group?

One notable success is that we recently invited a manager from another department to attend a meeting, allowing them to hear feedback and begin discussions on potential changes within their team. This direct engagement led to the staff member taking action and reassessing how service information is shared with clients. We hope this will ensure that clients receive information in a way that is both relevant and timely for them

Although Your Voice is still in its early stages, it has already sparked meaningful reflection and we’re excited for the changes yet to come.
