This Volunteers’ Week we’re hearing from some of our incredible volunteers

We want to take time this week to send a huge heartfelt thank you to all of our volunteers; without their dedication, experience and passion we could not provide the services we do in West Kent.
Volunteer Eagle says, “Volunteering for West Kent Mind (WKM) has been a delightful experience. From initialising my interest in volunteering to helping people in their sessions, West Kent Mind made me feel supported and a part of the family every step of the way. Seeing a group of people come together to form friendships and step out of their comfort was the highlight of the whole experience, you really can’t help but beam ear to ear at every moment.
So much care is put into making the space a safe and ripe atmosphere, open for everyone to be themselves and learn from each other. It is clear how important WKM’s work is in so many communities throughout West Kent and how the dedicated work of the employees fundamentally changes peoples lives. I feel I have learnt a lot myself about the various ways in which someone’s mental health can affect them, and even more so how brave and excellent people can be.
