Celebrating Achievements
The morning sessions highlighted the Creative Minds programme’s achievements to date, with presentations and group discussions shining a light on the progress made so far. Artists were invited to reflect on their own creative journeys, considering proudest moments, risks taken, challenges faced, and future ambitions.
Creative Exchanges
Practical workshops formed the heart of the day, offering participants a chance to share and experience new art forms. Sessions included dance, creative writing, and drama, giving facilitators the opportunity to step into the role of participant and reflect on the power of creativity in action.
Looking Ahead
Discussions also focused on the future of Creative Minds, including news of a proposed three-year extension and ways in which artists can continue to be supported. Participants explored how the Creative Health Standards can be embedded within Creative Minds, ensuring quality and sustainability as the programme grows.
Shared Reflections
The day closed with thoughtful reflections, as attendees considered what they would take away to strengthen their own practice. Key themes included the importance of collaboration, sustaining creativity within communities, and recognising the value of arts in education and wellbeing.
Many expressed a sense of inspiration and hope:
“So much talent in the room! There are amazing crossovers that could be made.”
“A feeling of hope and inspiration, but also curiosity about how to shine a light on the value of creativity.”
“Refreshing to have time and space for truthful conversations that can create positive change.”
Building Momentum
Suggestions for future support included more opportunities for networking and collaboration, funding for taster workshops, training to reach new communities, and practical steps to reduce barriers for practitioners.
The event highlighted not only the achievements of Creative Minds so far but also the energy, passion, and collective vision for what comes next. With collaboration at its core, the programme continues to nurture creativity as a powerful tool for connection, wellbeing, and positive change.
