Every suitcase tells a story✨
As part of our Creative Minds Migrants Table programme, participants created personal “Exhibitions in a Suitcase”, incredibly powerful and creative displays representing their journeys, memories, hopes, cultures, and experiences of starting a new life in the UK.
Through photographs, artwork, meaningful objects, colours, and words, each suitcase became a unique reflection of identity, resilience, and strength. Some celebrated the places they call home; others captured the challenges of moving to a new country, while many expressed hopes for the future and the importance of family, friendship, and belonging. These creative pieces reminded us that behind every migrant or refugee statistic is a person with a rich story, valuable experiences, and dreams for the future . This Refugee Week, we celebrate the courage, strength, and contributions of those who have made new beginnings in our communities. Thank you to everyone who shared their story with us and helped create a space of understanding, creativity, and connection.
