West Kent Mind has been awarded a three-year funding grant from the National Lottery Community Fund to transform our existing creative programmes.

Creative Minds is now into its second year and has seen huge success. It is a project for adults in West Kent which aims to improve mental health and wellbeing through engagement in creative activities and experiences. 24-week programmes run in locations across West Kent. They are delivered in partnership with local arts organisations, professional artists, creative leads, other charities, and are supported by the West Kent Mind community wellbeing team.

See our Creative Minds showcase for a flavour of past programmes. They have been very successful, garnering excellent feedback from participants and artists alike!

We are looking to engage a wide range of different people in our community through a variety of different programmes, including people with complex mental health needs and specific mental health diagnosis. We also hope to engage with a wider community of people who haven’t previously sought support for mental health, but might be experiencing anxiety or stress and are looking to improve their general wellbeing. A West Kent Mind wellbeing worker is present at every session to facilitate discussion around mental health and wellbeing.

As we look to the third year of the programme, we are looking for professional artists (funded positions) and arts organisations to partner with and lead the creative aspects of the workshops. This is where you come in!

To find out more about Creative Minds or let us know how you could support this programme please email ourhelp@westkentmind.org.uk and we will be in touch.
