Give this a try today and see through December with a sense of calm

Mindful Breathing Exercise

Find a Comfortable Position: Sit or lie down in a comfortable position, ensuring your back is straight but relaxed. Close your eyes if it feels right.

Focus on Your Breath: Take a deep breath in through your nose, slowly filling your lungs. Pay attention to the sensation of the air entering your body.

Hold for a Moment: Hold your breath gently for 2-3 seconds, noticing how your body feels in this stillness.

Slow Exhale: Slowly exhale through your mouth, letting the air flow out completely. Focus on the sensation of release.

Repeat the Cycle: Breathe in deeply through your nose for 4 seconds, hold for 2, and then exhale slowly for 6 seconds. Try to make each breath slower and deeper than the last.

Stay Present: If your mind starts to wander, gently bring your attention back to your breath. Notice the rhythm and the calm it brings.

Continue for a Few Minutes: Keep this cycle going for 5-10 minutes or as long as you feel comfortable.

Tips:

  1. Try placing one hand on your chest and the other on your stomach to feel the rise and fall with each breath.
  2. You can do this exercise anywhere—whether you’re at work, home, or even outdoors!
  3. This practice can help reduce stress, increase focus, and create a sense of calm.
