Who is this programme for?

Refugees, asylum seekers and migrants local and new to Tunbridge Wells, or those who would like to feel more confident getting involved in local life.

It could be right for you if you:

  • Are learning or improving your English

  • Would like to practise speaking English in a friendly, relaxed setting

  • Want to learn more about Tunbridge Wells and the local area

  • Would like to meet new people and make connections

  • Enjoy being creative or would like to try something new

  • Want to feel more confident getting out and about locally

  • Are interested in local stories, history, culture, food, nature and community life

You don’t need to have good English, creative experience or any knowledge of local history.

You can join in at your own pace and in a way that feels comfortable for you.

What you’ll gain

  • Build confidence speaking English through friendly conversation and everyday activities
  • Learn useful words and phrases for everyday life in Tunbridge Wells
  • Discover your local area and find out more about the places, people and community around you
