Are you looking to lift your spirits and connect with like-minded individuals through the power of music? Look no further!
‘Music for the Mind’ is here to offer you a unique and therapeutic group experience that will elevate your mood and introduce you to the joy of singing and music theory. The sessions, held on a Friday in Paddock Wood, are led by the incredibly talented and compassionate Sue, with the support of a West Kent Mind Wellbeing worker.
Sue says, “We start with engaging mental health exercises to set a positive tone. We then warm up with fun musical exercises, complete with actions, to get everyone energised and ready to sing. With an extensive songbook at our disposal, we explore the structure and meaning behind each song before singing, providing a deeper appreciation and connection to the music. One of the highlights is our venture into song writing, where we play a creative game similar to ‘consequences.’ This exercise has produced some fantastic results and sparked our creativity!”
Sue, is known for her encouraging and understanding approach. With her extensive experience running leisure choirs and groups for individuals with neurological conditions, Sue ensures that everyone feels comfortable and included.
‘Music for the Mind’ is open to everyone, regardless of musical background or experience. All you need is a bit of inspiration and a willingness to have a go. The atmosphere is informal, friendly, and most importantly, fun!
